Public Safety puts hold on Hawkers and Peddlers permits

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that the Public Safety Unit has put a hold on Hawkers & Peddlers permits, effective immediately.

As stated last week, it has become clear that the Hawkers & Peddlers criteria needs to be reviewed and updated. Criteria for these permits must meet the current needs in order for Kahnawa�kehr�:non to have confidence that anyone engaging in door-to-door sales meets all of our requirements to ensure best practices.

�Currently, there are no active Hawkers & Peddlers permits in circulation, which should simplify matters� said Commissioner of Public Safety Lloyd Phillips. �We will begin the process to update our processes in the very near future.�
