Ratsenhaienhs Clinton Phillips attending Nuclear Waste Working Group meeting in Toronto

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Rats�nhaienhs Clinton Phillips is attending the quarterly Anishinabek Nation and Iroquois Caucus Alliance (AN-IC) Nuclear Waste Working Group (Working Group) meeting taking place today in Toronto.

Rats�nhaienhs Phillips holds the Environment portfolio for the MCK.

The agenda includes updates on 1) the MicroModular reactor project at Chalk River, Ontario; 2) funding to support Indigenous participation in the new Impact Assessment System; and 3) an overview of the Working Group.

The Working Group meets quarterly to discuss combined efforts to raise awareness and education, and to advocate on behalf of our respective nations on our concerns with the transport and containment of nuclear waste within our respective territories.
