Council of Elders Operational Review available on-line at kahnawake.com

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke would like to inform the community that the Council of Elders Operational Review, as prepared and presented by Organizational Development Services of Kahnaw�:ke, is now available to read by clicking here.

Printed copies are also available at the Social Development Unit located at the Services Complex.

The Review was commissioned by the MCK�s Social Development Unit last fall. It was presented to the community on 2, Ohiar�:ha/June and formally presented to Chief & Council yesterday (9, Ohiar�:ha/June).

The 86-page document took about five months to compile.

While the Review presents an operational review of the Council of Elders, it also includes a list of six main recommendations with the intent to improve the function of the Council of Elders with the Kahnaw�:ke Membership Law.

The activities of the Council of Elders were suspended by mutual consent of the MCK and Elders in September 2007.
