KFB - Measures to combat COVID-19 in effect

03/13/2020

Forwarded on behalf of the Kahnawake Fire Brigade

The Kahnawake Fire Brigade (KFB) wishes to inform the community that in light of recent events, Kahnawake has taken a proactive approach to limit any possible exposure to the COVID-19 Virus.

As one of the lead agencies responding within Kahnawake the KFB would like to remind the community:

-    The KFB cannot screen or test for the Covid-19 virus.
-    Ambulances are for emergencies
-    All patients wishing to be screened MUST call 1-877-644-4545 or 811
-    Please DO NOT go to the KFB
-    Please DO NOT go to Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre
-    Please DO NOT go to screening locations unless directed.

You must call Info-Sant at 811 first and speak with a nurse.  The nurse will then provide you with further information and where to go to be screened. If you proceed without first being screened, you will be turned away.
Should you feel you need an ambulance, please call the Peacekeepers at (450) 632-6505 and clearly state your symptoms.  As soon as proper resources are available, they will be sent to your location in a priority sequence.
