Fair Wage Agreement Signed

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke announced that it has updated the Fair Wage & Conditions Agreement for Works on All Bridge Structures, Bridge Components and Approachways in the Mohawk Territory of Kahnaw�:ke. The finalized Agreement was signed on 1, Ohiarihk�:wa/July.

The Agreement ensures fair wages and safe working conditions for Mohawk employees in the Territory � specifically, in this case, for the works taking place on the Mercier Bridge via the Mohawk Bridge Consortium.

�There are three changes in this new Agreement,� said Chief Kenneth McComber. �A new pay scale is in effect, there is an improved recourse for dispute resolution as well as an updated clause regarding reimbursement for expenses by employees for procuring certain safety equipment.
