MCK and Kahnawake Marina sign new Lease Agreement

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to advise the community that a new Lease Agreement was signed yesterday between the Kahnaw�:ke Marina and the MCK.

No details of the Agreement will be made public but Rats�nhaienhs Clinton Phillips, the Lead on the Lands Portfolio, said that the community�s interests were well protected.

�This was a challenging file to complete, and Director of Lands Martin Stacey and I went to great lengths to ensure that the best interest of the collective was respected,� said Rats�nhaienhs Phillips. �I�d like to thank the Kahnaw�:ke Marina�s executives for their hard work, diligence and good faith.�

The Kahnaw�:ke Marina is located on approximately six (6) acres of Common Land at the western tip of Tekakwitha Island.
