Chiefs in Ottawa for Tobacco Meeting

Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke Chiefs Rhonda Kirby and Peggy Mayo are in Ottawa today to attend a meeting on tobacco.
They will be meeting with other Native leaders as well as Member of Parliament Dave Mackenzie, Parliamentary Secretary to Minister Responsible for Public Safety Stockwell Day.
�This informal session is a direct result of our presentation to the Public Safety Standing Committee on Contraband Tobacco back in June,� said Chief Kirby. �This idea of an informal session was proposed by Mr. Mackenzie as a way to discuss the issue of tobacco and to share mutual concerns surrounding the tobacco industry,� she added.
The informal meeting takes place in Ottawa later this morning on Parliament Hill.
