Recreation Bay area water samples indicate it is safe

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to inform the community that Environmental Health Services reports that the results from the water samples taken at the Onake Dock on Sunday morning indicate that it is safe to use the water for recreational purposes.

However, this may change quickly, given that there is rain in the forecast, which may cause runoff for the next two days.

Therefore, residents should use the water sampling results as general guidance, and to consider the current weather before entering the water.

Testing and monitoring of the recreational water in the Bay area will continue.
