UPDATE Two formally charged after yesterdays police operation

The Kahnaw�:ke Peacekeepers would like to inform the community that two suspects arrested during the execution of a search warrant yesterday have been formally charged.

Liam Delisle-Birchenough (DOB 07/14/1994) and Tamara McComber (DOB 08/06/1990) appeared before a judge and were formally charged with 2 counts each of possession for the purposes of trafficking a substance in schedule I, and one count each of possession for the purposes of trafficking a substance in schedule III.

The Controlled Drugs and Substances Act separates certain types of drugs or substances into schedules numbered I to IX.

There was an objection to their release and both were remanded into custody.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges could still be filed.
