Animal Protection pays it forward to the community

The Animal Protect Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) is very pleased to announce a special event for pet owners and their furry friends.

Animal Protection has received a generous donation of numerous bags of dog food from one caring individual � so much so that there isn�t enough space to store all the donated food.  In the spirit of the season, Animal Protection would like to �pay it forward� and give back to the community. Bags of dog food will be given away to community members on Monday, December 21st, and Tuesday, December 22nd, between 9am and 3pm. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, community members must call ahead to schedule an appointment time for pick up.

There is a limit of one (1) bag of food per household, two (2) bags for homes with two or more dogs, while supplies last.

Distribution will take place at the front of the building. A table will be set up and the food placed on the table by Animal Protection staff wearing masks and using hand sanitizer. Community members must also wear a mask and use hand sanitizer. Social distancing rules will be observed. Please note that if the weather is not favorable, the table will be set up inside the building, where only one person at a time can enter, along with one employee.
