Prohibited to Profit from Tioweroton Natural Resources

The Tiower�:ton Committee of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake would like to remind the Community that it is prohibited to gain profit from the natural resources in Tiower�:ton. Also, Community members should not be selling or giving natural resources from the Territory to any non-locals.

This includes fallen trees and/or soil of any type. Any fallen trees being removed from the Territory for milling purposes, must be confirmed with the Caretaker when it leaves and when it returns. The Caretakers are always available for consultation if you are unsure of how to deal with fallen trees.

It is the hope of the Tiower�:ton Committee that Community members will comply and assist with ensuring that the Territory�s natural resources are not exploited.  Failure to comply with this directive will result in the development of stricter rules and regulations.
