Moose observed in Cabin Area of Tioweroton

The Lands Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to inform the community that two agents from the Minist�re des For�ts, de la Faune et des Parcs were in the Tiower�:ton Territory assisting Caretakers this past Friday with locating a moose that has been sighted in the cabin area over the last few weeks.

Due to its unusual behavior, Caretakers want to observe the animal for signs of meningeal worm disease and will attempt to chase it out of the cabin area. If you see it, do not attempt to go near it and contact a Caretaker immediately.

At this time we do not know if it is safe for consumption due to the behaviors it is exhibiting that are consistent with Chronic Wasting disease or meningeal worm disease.
