State of Emergency extended for 14th consecutive month

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to advise the community that the current State of Emergency has been extended for an additional period of 30 days.

The Mohawk Council Resolution was passed by Consensus at today�s duly-convened Council meeting. As has been standard procedure, the Resolution includes the extension of the Mandate for the Kahnaw�:ke COVID-19 Task Force.

This new extension is dated from May 21 to June 21, 2021. The State of Emergency has been in effect since it was initially declared on April 21, 2020.

As required by Kahnaw�:ke law, the State of Emergency must be renewed on a monthly basis.  

These actions have been taken to ensure the protection of Kahnaw�:ke�s jurisdiction while the community addresses all matters related to the on-going pandemic.
