Major Work Blitz R-138 Up-Ramp Closed July 17- July 29

07/15/2021

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw:ke (MCK) has been informed by the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated that repaving and maintenance work will require the closure of the R-138 east up-ramp towards Montreal, from Saturday, July 17, at 10pm until Thursday, July 29 at 10pm.

A detour will be in place via R-138 east service road towards R-132 west up-ramp. Additionally, the multi-purpose lane will be extended beyond the 207 overpass to provide public transit priority access to the Montreal-bound Mercier Bridge.

Due to the detour and the configuration of the R-132 west up-ramp, a truck ban for the Montreal-bound Mercier Bridge will be in place for the entirety of this closure. To facilitate the movement of traffic along the R-138 east detour route, all truck traffic will have to use an alternate bridge to cross into Montreal. Trucks trying to access R-138 east from Chateauguay and other points west of Kahnaw:ke will be detoured via A-30.

Trucks heading south over the Mercier Bridge will be permitted during this intervention.

Please drive with caution and slow down when entering construction zones, and respect the Move-Over Law when you see flashing lights.

The MCK reminds the public that these works are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints, or work progression and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
