MCK meets with Quebec Indigenous Affairs Minister today

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to advise the community that a meeting took place this morning between Oh�n:ton I:iente ne Ratits�nhaienhs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer and Quebec�s Minister Responsible for Indigenous Affairs, Ian Lafreni�re. This was their first in-person meeting.

The agenda items included:

  • Relationship Framework (document that governs Quebec Kahnaw�:ke Relations)
  • Chateauguay Residential Project on Kahnaw�:ke�s traditional territory
  • Funding Issues regarding the new Cultural Center

The meeting was conducted in person.
