Cooperation needed as Restoration Project continues along Rec Path

11/19/2021

The Kahnaw:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) would like to advise the community that seeding is taking place on restored areas on the south side (mainland) of the bay as well as on the island as part of the Tekakwitha Island and Bay Restoration Project.

Newly seeded areas are very sensitive to disturbance and we ask community members to please avoid any activities within these locations (walking, biking, ATV etc.). Areas can be identified by the green color that is mixed in with the seeds to help them adhere to the soil. Fencing has also been installed along the bike path.

KEPO appreciates the cooperation of the community as we continue to progress towards completion of this restoration project. For more information, please contact KEPO at bayproject@mck.ca or 450-635-0600.
