Rainfall Warning amounts increased

The Public Safety Division of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to advise the community that Environment Canada has increased the amount of rainfall for our area, beginning Thursday (April 7) through Friday.

Rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 millimeters are now expected (20 to 30 earlier). Heavy rainfall can cause flash flooding and water pooling on roads and highways.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Homeowners are asked to verify that their home′s sump pump is functioning properly and take any other necessary precautions.
