Grand Chief to meet with Premier Charest

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Grand Chief Michael Ahr�hrhon Delisle, Jr. will meet with Quebec Premier Jean Charest this afternoon.

It is expected that the two will sign a Statement of Understanding and Mutual Respect that will define the relationship between Kahnaw�:ke and the province. As well, the two will meet to discuss the Framework Agreement that will facilitate the renewal/negotiations of the �Ten Agreements� originally signed ten years ago.

Native Affairs Minister Pierre Corbeil is also expected to attend.

The meeting will be held in Quebec City.
