Exit Poll Results Announced

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) announced the results of the Exit Poll held during the election held on Saturday, 4 Ohiari�k�:wa/July. The question asked was:

�Do you recognize the Federal (Canadian) Court�s authority to override a decision made by the Court of Kahnaw�:ke in respect to Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke elections?�

A total of 758 people participated.
705 people said �no� (93% of those who participated)
50 people said �yes� (6.6% of participants)
3 survey ballots were spoiled.

While this was clearly not intended to be a referendum, it does give the MCK and the community a clear sense of where Kahnawa�kehr�:non stand on this issue.
