Preferred Rate for Kahnawa�kehr�:non, Superior Propane

The Executive Directors Committee (EDC) is pleased to announce that residents of Kahnaw�:ke can now take advantage of an affordable community rate that has been negotiated with the EDC�s choice propane supplier, Superior Propane.

The EDC has negotiated a rate of 69 cents per litre for Kahnawa�kehr�:non and 67 cents per litre for the elderly (aged 65 and over), compared to the weekly Montreal average retail rate of 88.5 cents per litre, according to the Natural Resources Canada Index. The EDC is pleased to pass these savings to the community, as it is a direct result of the combined volume of propane purchased by the seven EDC organizations and eleven purchasing partners within the community.

This negotiated frozen contracted rate will be in effect from November 1st, 2009 through August 31, 2010. Additionally, there is no minimum consumption required for this preferred rate to be applied.

�This initiative is the positive result of creating a win-win solution for all Kahnawa�keh:r�non when organizations and businesses work together,� stated EDC Purchasing Agent, Lois Williams. �It is important that the community be aware that we do not sell or work for Superior Propane, so if people have or can find a better rate, they should remain with their supplier.�

Existing customers can apply by:

- Filling out and mailing in the return-addressed envelope;
- Faxing to 450-629-6293;
- Scanning and e-mailing to customerservice@superiorpropane.com;
- Calling 1-87-SUPERIOR;

New customers must first open an account by calling 1-87-SUPERIOR before registering and will be subject to credit approval. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, October 28th.
