Fair Wage Agreement signed

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) is pleased to announce that the 2009-2010 Fair Wage Agreement has been signed by Chief Rhonda Kirby, on behalf of the MCK, and Wayne Rice, Sterling Deer and Peter Morris of the Mohawk Bridge Consortium.

The signing took place on Monday, March 22, 2010 at the offices of the MCK. The Agreement is in effect immediately and all rates of pay are retroactive to May 1, 2009.

�We are very pleased to have reached an agreement on the rates of pay for the disputed positions�, said Chief Rhonda Kirby. �We are also extremely happy that all of the men will finally receive their pay increases for the past year.�

The 2010-2011 Fair Wage Agreement is expected to come into force on May 1, 2010 for workers on the Mercier Bridge rehabilitation project.
