Director of Justice Services Ron Skye wishes to inform the community that Sophia Dupont is no longer an employee of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke.

In light of the recent Peacekeeper operation at the residence of Burt Montour, Ms. Dupont was determined to be an occupant and has been further charged with offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act and the Criminal Code of Canada. Upon notification, Ms. Dupont was immediately placed on an administrative suspension pending the collection of further information for the purposes of internal review.

The internal review has confirmed that there is No evidence that any restricted or confidential information was shared with unauthorized third parties. Any and all correspondence has been shared only with approved personnel.

While Ms. Dupont maintains that she is innocent of all charges, due to the seriousness of the charges and the breach of public confidence and trust that is required for the position of Manager of the Office of the Director of Justice Services, Ms. Dupont has chosen to resign her position within the Justice Unit citing personal reasons.
