The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to inform Kahnawa’kehró:non that Grand Chief Michael Ahríhron Delisle, Jr. met with United States Consul General Nina Maria Fite at Tewatohnhi’saktha yesterday in Kahnawà:ke.
The meeting was held at the Consul General’s request to discuss Kahnawà:ke’s economic development plans, as well as other political and social issues.
John Bud Morris and Kyle Delisle of Tewatohnhi’saktha also participated in the ninety minute meeting.
“The Consul General wants to know whether she or the consulate can help in any way,” said Grand Chief Delisle. “It was a very interesting meeting. The fact that it was held at her request is very encouraging. We’ve committed to continue our dialogue in areas of concern that we raised.”
