The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) would like to inform the community that it has received two letters requesting  the creation of a Kahnawà:ke residency law.

The letters were received on 22, Kenténha/October 2014.

In accordance with the Community Decision Making Process, the next step is to categorize these requests as either Type 1 (laws of general application), type 2 (laws that are regulatory in nature) or Urgent.

As dictated in the processes, the KLCC has sent both requests to MCK Legal Services for categorization. Once categorized, the KLCC will notify the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke, then inform those requesting the legislation of the decision on categorization.
