The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to advise the community that four Chiefs are in Gatineau, Quebec for various meetings at both the provincial and national level.

Ratitsénhaienhs Joseph Tokwiro Norton, Gina Deer and Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer are attending the Assembly of First Nations Special Chiefs Assembly. Agenda items include the National Inquiry into Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls; the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples; Energy Issues; and Climate Action and the Environment. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will address the Assembly tomorrow.

Ratsénhaienhs Clinton Phillips is participating in meetings with the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec & Labrador, which are being held concurrently.

The Chiefs will return to the office on Friday.
