The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton and Ietsénhaienhs Christine Zachary-Deom will be in Montreal this afternoon to meet with Mayor Valerie Plante and Commissioner of Indigenous Affairs Marie-Eve Bordeleau.
The meeting was requested by the mayor. The agenda consists of the following:
Contribution of Kahnawà:ke to the City’s reconciliation strategy and the Nation to Nation relationship
Economic development
Heritage, including Toponymy (the name change of Amherst Street), and the composition of a committee on Archaeology
