Animal Pound closed due to Parvo

The Community Protection Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke would like to inform the community that the Animal Protection Pound has been forced to close until Monday, December 13th, due to a recent outbreak of the Canine Parvovirus.

During this time, the Pound will be thoroughly sanitized to prevent the spreading of this virus.

Alternative arrangements have been made with neighboring pounds for community members wishing to drop off an animal. Please contact Animal Protection if you require this information.

Canine Parvovirus is a contagious virus mainly affecting dogs. The disease is highly infectious and is spread from dog to dog by direct or indirect contact with their feces.
