KTV
Orihwató:ken Tká:ra’s
The Communications Unit of the MCK began broadcasting KTV in November of 2001 on Kahnawá:ke’s local cable station. The show broadcasts on Paulcomm channel 3 and was the first regularly scheduled program to utilize the local TV station.
MCK Communications created the program as a response to a management challenge to come up with ways to better serve the public and, as such, KTV has become an important tool for getting the MCK’s messages out to the community. Besides the obvious political issues, the program also focuses on the MCK’s internal operations as well as community events and other stories of general interest to the community. Beside the core group of Communications staff, a sizeable number of other staff and even community members have helped with the program, making it a real team effort.
A new show runs every second Wednesday with re-runs on Saturdays and Bi-Wednesdays and an occasional re-run with "Chiefs Uncut" on Fridays. Because the cable channel is only available to Kahnawá:ke residents, we’ve made some video clips available for you to watch online and it is also available RENT-FREE at Otiohkwa Video: |
