Report favorable, casino studies to continue

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community that Chief & Council have accepted the results of the market assessment study conducted by The Innovation Group in relation to a possible Kahnaw�:ke casino project.

�We�re impressed with the quality of the report, the diligence used in gathering the information and, most important, the favorable outlook for a potential casino,� said Grand Chief Michael Ahr�hron Delisle, Jr. �The Innovation Group will now conduct the social impact and economic impact studies. If all goes well, these will be completed before the end of the year.�

A special Community Meeting will be scheduled once all three studies are completed. This is expected to take place early in the New Year.

A summary of the market assessment study will be made available to the community in the next few days, via www.kahnawake.com and on CKER (Paul�s Cable channel 3).

Chief & Council passed the Request for Decision at today�s Council Meeting. The motion passed 8-1, with Chief Carl Horn objecting.
