Reminder: Electoral Officer Call for Nominations for 2012 MCK Elections

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke would like to remind the community of the Call for Nominations for the Electoral Officer of the 2012 Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke Elections.

The nomination period began on 23, Ennisk�:wa- March and ends at 4:00pm today 5, Oneraht�kha - April. Nominations must be proposed and seconded by two community members who meet the requirements of the Kahnaw�:ke Membership Law and are listed as members on the Kahnaw�:ke Kanien�keh�:ka Registry. Nominees must sign a privacy waiver to allow verification that they meet the following eligibility requirements:

� Be over the age of twenty-one (21);
� Meet the requirements of the Kahnaw�:ke Membership Law and be listed as a member on the Kahnaw�:ke Kanien�keh�:ka Registry;
� Reside in Kahnaw�:ke; and
� Must not have been, within the previous six (6) years, convicted and sentenced for a criminal offense. The six (6) year ban commences only after sentence has been served in full.

Community members who wish to nominate a candidate can pick up nomination forms during regular business hours at the main building of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke.
