Membership information campaign launch

The Membership Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke�s Social Development Unit wishes to announce that, as part of the Community Decision Making Process, a campaign is being launched to inform Kahnawa�kehr�:non on the Kahnaw�:ke Membership Law before the law goes to the community for review and amendment.

The campaign will be launched at tonight�s Fall Community Meeting, where information on the Membership Law will be presented. 

Community members are invited to attend one of a series of information sessions that the Membership Department has organized to review summary information on the Membership Law, the reviews of the law and the key issues.

The Membership Law Information Sessions will be held at the Kahnawake Shakotiia�takehnhas Community Services building on the following dates and times:

1.    Tuesday, November 20        6pm to 7:30pm
2.    Wednesday, November 21        12 noon to 1:30pm
3.    Thursday, November 22        6pm to 7:30pm   
4.    Tuesday, November 27        12 noon to 1:30pm

Additionally, a video presentation is being prepared to highlight the need for the Membership Law to be reviewed by the community and to amend the law. Once completed, it will be available for viewing on KTV, YouTube and DVD, though no official date has been announced at this time.
