Kellyann Meloche to leave position as Director of Community Protection

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform Kahnawa�kehr�:non that Kellyann Meloche has resigned as the Director of Community Protection to accept a new position as Safety Specialist for Amerind Risk Management Corporation, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Ms. Meloche, who worked in various capacities in Emergency Preparedness and Community Protection since 1993, has been the Director since 2011. Her last official day will be on 12, Ennisk�:wa/March 2014, though her last actual day in the office will be 7, Ennisk�:wa/March. 

�It�s been very educational working for our community,� she said. �Safety and emergency management and response will always be in my heart, just as Kahnaw�:ke will. I want to thank the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke for affording me the time and experience to work for Kahnaw�:ke. I will always cherish the time I spent working here.� 

�Kellyann�s passion and experience in Emergency Preparedness was an asset to our community and I wouldn�t have expected anything less of her,� said her supervisor, Director of Justice Services Ron Skye. �She will continue to further her career development in an area of expertise that she not only enjoys but has a professional and personal dedication to. With that said, and taking the liberty of speaking on behalf of the Justice and Public Security Division of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke, we�d like to thank Kellyann for her dedication and hard work while with us and wish her the very best as she heads south.�

She will begin her new career on 17, Ennisk�:wa/March 2014. Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, Arnold Lazare will assume the Director position of CPU as an interim measure.
