Agenda announced for March 8th Membership Law Hearing

The Kahnaw�:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission would like to inform the community that the agenda has been formalized for next week�s Hearing into proposed amendments to the Kahnaw�:ke Membership Law. The agenda items are as follows:

• Continuing discussion on Section 14.7, which reads: �A child who has no Kanien�keh�ka or Indigenous lineage adopted by a Kanien�keh�ka of Kahnaw�:ke parent(s) after the enactment of this law on November 10, 2003 is not eligible to be recognized as a Kanien�keh�ka of Kahnaw�:ke or be an Approved Kahnaw�:ke Resident� 
• The Definition of �Great Grand Parent� will be revisited
• Section 15 �Application Process/Approved Kahnaw�:ke Residents�
• Section 16 �Entitlements of Kanien�keh�ka of Kahnaw�:ke�
• Relevant/related Definitions will be addressed as they arise
