Section of historic Fort Wall to be dismantled Saturday

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform Kahnawa�kehr�:non that a section of the historic fort wall near the Cenotaph will be dismantled this Saturday, May 14th beginning at 7am. The work is expected to be completed by 12 noon.

After the section was closed to the public and upon further inspection the wall was deemed to be a hazard by the Public Safety Unit. The work will be carried out by Public Works.

The stones from the wall will remain on-site and measures will be taken to ensure the possibility of future reconstruction.
