Grand Chief to meet with AFN Chief, Seigneury Chief Federal Negotiator

Grand Chief Michael Ahr�hrhon Delisle, Jr. has two important meetings scheduled for today.

First, he will meet with Chief Federal Negotiator John Lemieux today as part of the on-going joint Seigneury of Sault St.Louis Negotiation Process. The Grand Chief will be joined by Chiefs Rhonda Kirby and Martin Leborgne, along with the Seigneury Technical team. The all-day session is being held in Kahnaw�:ke.

Second, Chief Delisle will meet with Assembly of First Nations National Chief Phil Fontaine to discuss Kahnaw�:ke�s overall discontentment with the AFN and, more specifically, Kahnaw�:ke�s (and the Iroquois Caucus�) rejection of the AFN-supported Bill C-30.

�The issues may be coming to a head,� said Chief Delisle. �It isn�t only our community who is dissatisfied. Most of the Quebec chiefs are showing a level of frustration that could lead to a split from the national organization. I think Mr. Fontaine needs to hear this.�
