Hydro Maintenance Project

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke would like to inform the community that Hydro Quebec (HQ) will be undertaking a major maintenance project of the fluvial crossings on the 120 kV lines between the Territory and the borough of LaSalle. The works will start on Monday, June 2nd and should be completed by the end of September, 2008.

Taking place along the seaway road, these works are necessary to repair the fluvial crossings damaged during the 1998 Ice Storm. Hydro Quebec plans to replace the actual overhead ground wires and various accessories, such as the insulators and hardware. HQ will also install overhead ground wires in sections of the lines where they are missing, notably on the St. Lawrence River span.

The overall works will be performed Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm with occasional works carried out on the weekend. Please note that no power interruptions are scheduled during the course of the project and work should not affect vehicular traffic.
