Landfill Moratorium Lifted

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke announced today that it has officially approved amendments to the Clean Soil Policy and is lifting the Moratorium on Landfill for the 2008 season.

Therefore the current Landfill Moratorium, in place since September 2007, will be officially lifted as of Tuesday, June 17, 2008 until Friday, November 28, 2008. A provisional Landfill Moratorium will be imposed on Monday, December 1, 2008 and Landfill activities in Kahnaw�:ke will be re-assessed.
