Logs still available for community members

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that wood cleared from the North Wall as part of the Hydro Line 2 decommissioning project is still available for community members to use as firewood.

The wood is located at SLS Lot 7-1-2 on the Seaway Road behind KSS (see map below). Logs are mostly in eight (8) foot lengths. Community members are responsible for pickup and cutting into appropriate lengths.

The MCK reminds community members to be safe when working with and transporting logs (use of safety equipment, secure loading) and to respect COVID-19 protocols. The wood is available on a first come, first served basis and is for personal use, not for resale.

Please note, the wood should NOT be transported to Tiower�:ton to avoid the spread of pests, including the Emerald Ash Borer.
