Emergency Bridge Work in Tioweroton

The Lands Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke would like to inform the Community of upcoming Emergency Bridge Work in Tiower�:ton that will result in a temporary road closure.

Weather permitting, Caretakers will begin the work on Monday, August 16, 2021, which will last approximately three  (3) days. This will result in the closure of the main road at the second Bridge. 

Community members who need to access their cabins located after the Bridge will be required to access that area by the north side of the Territory. Please note that the road from the north side is not suitable for a car and should only be accessed by truck or SUV. 

It is imperative that Community members do not drive through the water to gain access to the other side of the Bridge. Aside from the chance of getting stuck, it will disturb the waterway and contaminate the water with oil/gas/vehicle particles affecting the fish habitat & population.
