Electoral Officer selected for upcoming By-Election

The Executive Office of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to advise the community that Angus L. Montour has been selected as the Electoral Officer for the upcoming by-election for the position of one (1) Rats�nhaienhs (Elected Council Chief) made available by the resignation of Rats�nhaienhs Alan John Rice.

Upon the reading of Rice�s letter of resignation into the record at today�s duly-convened Council meeting and the official selection of Mr. Montour, the process of conducting the by-election can officially begin, pursuant to section 34.1 of the Kahnaw�:ke Election Law.

As the mandate of Mr. Montour as Electoral Officer, along with that of Muriel White-Rice as the Assistant Electoral Officer, has begun, all further information regarding the By-Election will be issued by the Electoral Officer. This includes the Nomination Day, Meet the Candidates Night, By-Election Date and any other pertinent information.
