Community Invitation to Tekakwitha Island and Bay Restoration Project Grand Opening Tours

07/17/2023

The Kahnaw:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) is pleased to inform the community of a series of activities marking the completion of the Tekakwitha Island and Bay Restoration Project.

To celebrate this achievement, community members are invited to Grand Opening guided walking tours on Tuesday, July 25th from 11am-6pm. Food and drinks will be provided by Rezican Tacos at the event.

The hour-long tours will leave the recreation beach area every hour on the hour, showcase the new features added to the island and bay, and explain their benefits to the ecosystem. Arrangements will be made for persons with mobility issues, upon request.

To register for a tour, please email bayproject@mck.ca and specify your preferred departure time or message us on Facebook. Questions or comments can be directed to KEPO at the same email, or by calling 450-635-0600.

Following the community launch there will be a media event on Wednesday, July 26th, at 11am, which will be open to interested community members.
