Leslie Skye Retires from the KLC

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to congratulate Leslie Skye on her retirement after 12 years of service to the MCK and community.

Leslie began her career at the Kahnaw�:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC), now known as the Kahnaw�:ke Legislative Committee (KLC) in 2011. In July of 2014, Leslie became the Interim Coordinator for the KLCC, and in 2018 was appointed as the KLCC Coordinator. Additionally, Lesile is also the longest serving member of the Legislative Commission.

�Leslie has been invaluable to the success of the KLCC and the Community Decision Making Process. Her passion for her work was evidenced by her commitment to the founding principles of the commission and the legislative process. We wish her all the best in her retirement and want her to know that she will be greatly missed," said Iets�nhaienhs Tonya Perron who leads the Legislative Portfolio.

Previous to the KLC, Leslie worked at other organizations within the community, including Mohawk Internet Technologies, the Kahnaw�:ke Education Center, the Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre for Onkwata�karit�htshera, and Coordinator for Onkwata�karit�htshera. She also worked at Dawson College in Montreal, the Assembly of First Nations and for the Outreach Research Project, �Bridging the Gap.�

Leslie�s final day is August 31, 2023. The MCK wishes her all the best in her retirement.
