Minor ground fire in Tioweroton extinguished

The Lands Unit Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to inform the community that there was a small ground fire smoldering (approximately 8 x 12 feet) in Tiower�:ton, noticed by Caretakers this morning at a cabin site located on the road popularly known as 787.

The St. Lucie Fire Brigade was called in, and it is now extinguished.

To ensure the area is deemed safe, the Soci�t� de protection des Forets contre le feu (Quebec Provincial Forest Fire Control Agency) was also informed and is now conducting an assessment. Please keep away from the area until the assessment is completed.

The Cabin Owner has been informed and is aware.
