Tioweroton Falls Area swimming suspended due to elevated bacteria levels

The Lands Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke would like to advise the community that the swimming areas in Tiower�:ton at the Falls (Top and Bottom) are closed due to elevated bacteria levels.

Recent water sampling by technicians from Environmental Health Services (EHS) of Kahnaw�:ke Shakotiia′takehnhas Community Services has revealed an unacceptable increase in bacteria and recommends staying out of the water, in the Falls area only, until levels return to what is considered adequate for swimming and recreation.
