Sky-Deer in high-level meetings today

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Oh�n:ton �:iente ne Ratits�nhaienhs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer hosted two (2) high-level meetings today.

This morning, Sky-Deer met with the newly appointed U.S. Consul General for Montreal, Robert P. Sanders. The meeting was requested by Consul General Sanders, who arrived in Montreal a few weeks ago, and is introductory in nature. Over the last several years, Sky-Deer has built strong relationships with U.S. Consul Generals in Montreal. These relationships are valued by the MCK, as cross border and other issues can be addressed at a higher level.

Additionally, Sky-Deer met with Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Manon Mass�, Co-Spokesperson for Qu�bec Solidaire. The meeting was requested by the MNA, who wishes to discuss Kahnaw�:ke�s political priorities and challenges. Mme. Mass� will also share her party�s vision of solidarity with indigenous peoples, climate change, rooted in the respect for Aboriginal Rights.
