Two Environment Legislative Requests received by the Kahnawake Legislative Commission

The Kahnaw�:ke Legislative Commission (KLC) wishes to advise the community that it has received two (2) requests for laws regarding the environment: 1) a Kahnaw�:ke Environmental Protection Law and 2) a Kahnaw�:ke St. Lawrence River Law.

The submission from the Kahnaw�:ke Environmental Protection Office (KEPO) was received on Thursday, September 14, 2023. It has been formally addressed at the most recent KLC meeting, held on October 12. The Environment portfolio Nits�nhaienhs (Ross Montour and Cody Diabo) have been made aware of these submissions.

There is currently a Waiting List for legislative requests, as the current Legislative Agenda is full. The proponent (KEPO) and the community will be notified when the requests are moved from the Waiting List to the Legislative Agenda.
