Ratitsenhaienhs meet with U.S. Consulate and CBP Representatives

12/15/2023

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawake would like to inform the community that Ohen:ton iente ne Ratitsenhaienhs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer and Nitsenhaienhs Ross Montour and Harry Rice met with representatives from the United States Consulate, and the United States Customs and Border Protection offices on Wednesday.

The meeting was a follow up to a relationship building meeting that was held last year and provided the opportunity to share insight with U.S. officials at a high level.

"The common goal is to further enhance the education and awareness of the frontline officers and agents to First Nation culture. This was a great opportunity to maintain this relationship, and to improve our collective border crossing experiences at the airport," said Sky-Deer. "We hope to continue these meetings for the foreseeable future."

The meeting was held at the Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport.
