Electoral Officer Calls for Emergency Community Meeting for Tonight

Electoral Officer Lindsay LeBorgne is calling for an Emergency Community Meeting to be held tonight, to seek public direction regarding the Federal Court�s ruling last night to have an ineligible candidate�s name placed on the ballot for this Saturday�s MCK 2009 Election.

Mr. LeBorgne is attempting to contact every candidate in an attempt to gain their input in the situation that sees Canada basically claiming jurisdiction over a process where it has no business.

�The Canadian Court is imposing itself on our election,� said Mr. LeBorgne. �This is completely unacceptable. As a community, we have principles we need to stand by and I hope that, tonight, we stand together and reject Canada�s paternalism.�

The meeting will begin at 7pm at the Legion Hall. All community members are urged to attend.
