Chiefs Kiosk to Appear at Services Complex

11/11/2009

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw:ke (MCK) is pleased to announce a new initiative that will offer easy and informal access to Council Chiefs.

Beginning tomorrow (12, Kentenhk:wa/November), Chiefs will appear at the Services Complex on alternating Thursdays to talk with community members. It is expected that some Chiefs will occasionally invite the people they work with directly on their various portfolios (Directors, Technicians) to join them at the kiosk.

Instead of having people come to the office, it makes sense for us to go to the people, said Grand Chief Michael Ahrhrhon Delisle, Jr. Community members have a lot to say, and we want to hear their ideas and answer their questions.

The Chiefs will appear on a rotating basis, with John Dee Delormier and Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer being the first to participate. They will be at the kiosk from approximately 9:30am to 4:30pm.

Chief Kenneth McComber is tentatively scheduled for 26 Kentenhk:wa/November, while Chief Lloyd Phillips has agreed to appear on 10, Tsothhrha/December.
