Storytellers Vault

Storytellers Vault

Presented by the Caisse Populaire Kahnawake Community Development Fund

Caisse Populaire KahnawakeThe Storytellers Vault is a televised production where budding filmmakers and TV show producers are willing to pitch a TV concept to a panel of judges, on camera and to be aired on local Kaná:takon TV (Channel 300 & 399). Concepts that are pitched and selected by the judges will receive a small grant in order to assist in the production of the TV pilot.

Those who pitch ideas will also have access to equipment (lighting, cameras, microphones, studio, green screen, editing) to create the TV Pilot.

Pitch your show idea with an estimate of how much it will cost and the judges will decide if you are a winner. Shows are eligible for grants of up to $1,000 (Exceptions may be made). Each pitch should have an element of the official Community Vision and will be judged based on its own merits. If developed, its creator will maintain 100% ownership of their show concept.

To submit your idea for consideration on the Storyteller's Vault, fill out the idea submission form and hand in to the Public Relations Office or the Main Reception of the MCK by Friday, June 23rd at 4pm.

The Storytellers Vault is brought to you by the Kahnawà:ke Communications Network, which is made up of the following organizations: Kahnawake Youth Center, Kahnawake Education Center, Kahnawake Shakotiia'takehnhas Community Services, Kahnawake Mohawk Peacekeepers, Kahnawake Fire Brigade, Kanien'keháka Onkwawén:na Raotitióhkwa Language and Cultural Center, Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre, Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke, Step by Step Child and Family Center, and Tewatohnhi’saktha.

The Teller’s Vault is similar to the popular TV shows Dragon’s Den and Shark Tank. However, instead of investing in business proposals the panel of judges awards cash to help budding TV show producers create a pilot TV show for local channels 300 & 399. The ‘Vault' is sponsored by the Caisse Populaire Kahnawake Community Development Fund. Pitches will receive 25% of the grant up-front, an additional 25% upon submission of the first draft and the remaining 50% upon completion of the TV pilot.
